Samaritaine

La_Samaritaine is a large open-structured 5-story building on the Seine river in the center of Paris (at Pont Neuf).  Constructed around 1900, it had been closed for renovation since 2005, but recently reopened.  Marylee and I visited it at midday, with large throngs of other people (though there's so much space around its generous central atrium  it didn't seem really crowded).  We took escalators to the top floor (there are elevators also), and ate lunch at Voyage (one of its nine restaurant). The food and service were very good.  There are what seems like a myriad of luxury shops--we didn't linger over them.  Altogether a fun experience.

N.B.  Do view the images against the black--the first one sprawls over the main page.
