ANCESTORS
We met a third cousin who sister R has corresponded with via Ancestry.com. He met us for coffee and turned out to be a lovely chap (but then we are related) with an equally lovely wife. Later, we sisters went to Murton where Mum, her brother and sister and her mother were all born - in the farmhouse next to this barn (farmhouse photo was too blurred). The barn and house were part of my great-grandfather's farm, though we don't know whether he was a tenant or owner. Mum remembers that there was an 18th century inscription on one of the stones inside the barn. While I wandered around the village - chatting to very friendly residents, one of whom remembered Mum's uncle and aunt - my sisters walked up Murton Pike, the hill in the right background and I tested my zoom lens when I thought I spotted them at the top (extras).
