Tree near Combestone Tor
I was out on Dartmoor today with Davis Clapp and 9 others from the camera club. He was focusing on composition and we started with a visit to Emsworthy Rocks, see extra. The weather was fairly warm with the sun coming and going throughout the day.
After a late lunch at Widecombe we headed for Sharp Tor and the trees in this area. Next it was Combestone Tor where there are a variety of trees and rocks to photograph. By now the sky was fairly dull but the sun did come out for brief periods and we made the most of the light. We had hoped for a sunset scene somewhere in this area but it became clear that this was unlikely as mist started to roll in. As the light was beginning fade we headed to Princetown which was fairly misty and took shots both inside the church grounds and around the outside of the prison. An enjoyable and informative day out.
