Washing

It’s clearly white there-shirt washing day! Shame that none of them dried outside - it never got sunny or windy enough to dry anything so they all can back inside at about 4 o’clock to be hung up indoors.

An early shopping delivery, then pottering in the garden this morning, deadheading, and sorting out the tomato plants. One has gone as I think it had a bit of blight, but I think I’ll leave the others a bit longer because there are still lots of tomatoes that are gradually ripening, and who knows, we may get some more sun this week.

Then a friend round for a cuppa this afternoon, and then the neighbours had a get-together in one of the front gardens. It was lovely to see everyone (all 8 houses in the road came) - they used to hold an annual barbecue at this time of year but this year we just brought our own drinks and nibbles. Because of where I live in the road, I don’t get to see many of them regularly (and a lot have got school-aged children so they have more to do with each other anyway), but we have had a lively whatsapp group during the pandemic so I’ve got to know them that way. A great road to live in!
