The ancient gold bulla found in Shropshire.

It’s on loan from the British Museum to the Shrewsbury Museum and Art Gallery at the moment. It’s stunning (and the photo doesn’t do it justice.).

I hadn’t visited this museum before, housed beautifully in the old Music Hall Theatre.  There are so many fascinating things in there. It’s well presented - and there are lots of seats so it’s welcoming and easy to enjoy.

I’d also forgotten what a lovely, historic city Shrewsbury is.

A lovely traditional Sunday lunch at The Mytton and Mermaid in Atcham really added to the pleasure.
