Rail Against The Reeds
Bitterly cold again today and the snow is persisting. I had the hide at Seventy Acres Lake to myself for a while. I shot a female reed bunting, a long-tailed-tit and a jay.
Skye the gorgeous collie turned up with his master and broke with hide etiquette by barking. :) I was then joined by a very knowledgeable birder with whom I had a lovely chat. He spotted the shy secretive water rail first. It soon scarpered when a moorhen appeared.
