The Way I See Things

Spanning

Guitarists' fingers, R thinks. I was thinking about Rachmaninov....

Baby B was on fine form today, which allowed his grandparents to be their best selves too, and a good time was had by all of us, all day. We managed a walk to Llandaff Fields this morning, where we shared a small picnic lunch, but while we were there a gale got up (making the Boy laugh when his hair was suddenly blown on end), and shortly after we arrived back home the rain arrived too, so we were confined to the house and to indoor activities for the rest of the day.

It's fascinating to watch B playing, and to compare the things he can do now with what he was able to achieve just a few weeks ago. This was the first time I'd ever seen him show real interest in this activity centre, and deliberately set out to make it produce its range of sounds and flashing lights. He's still very happy with the simple things though, such as stacking cups and wooden blocks, and particularly enjoys demolishing towers that his grown-ups construct out of them. Best of all, there are particular games, such as a favourite furry toy "hiding" and then "peeping out" from behind a grown-up, that reduce him to delighted laughter.

Days like this are a joy and a gift.

Before I go, I must remind you that tomorrow is Tiny Tuesday. If you'd like to play, please post a close-up photo of a small thing, and tag it TT331. I will choose my favourites for the week on Thursday.
