Pictorial blethers

All change

It stopped feeling like late summer today - rain or no rain - and became proper autumn. The temperature dropped to 11ºC this morning, and when I went out to Pilates I was shivering in my cropped leggings and bare feet ... Mind you, a specially intensive class had me peeling off my cardi before I even got the length of my first plank; she worked us really hard today. There's something very therapeutic about spending an hour concentrating on basic physical movement and individual muscles - even when you discover that yes, you are the oldest in the class. (Only by a few months, but still ...)

Theoretically I was going to stay in for the rest of the day and get some work done, but this was before I realised the afternoon, though blowy, was brightly sunny. I went off on my own (Himself's back is still causing problems) down to Toward, where I walked briskly along the road into a fierce southerly wind, taking photos of a multitude of black cattle, two perfect mushrooms just behind Munroist4113's camp site of last week, and the blue of the high tide with its crest of foam. On the way back to the car I phoned my pal for a blether - she should become available for socialising again soon, if she doesn't catch the lurgie.

I had intended using one of the aforementioned photos for tonight's journal, but I've just been hanging out of the bedroom window in the chill air taking photos of the moon. The one with the clouds has actually come out best, and I love the light on the water. I also love the time exposure feature on my current phone, which works especially well when I can brace my wrists against the window frame. I have to confess that there was a moment when imagination had me somehow losing my footing and slipping headlong into the garden a storey below - I could almost feel that despairing moment when you realise all is lost...

I didn't succumb. Clearly I need sleep. I'll just add a cheery sunlit photo as an extra. It can remind Munroist of the end of her hols ...
