Sunshine and Steel
After the deluge at 0930, that lasted for all of half an hour before moving on, it was a lovely day and still quite warm in the sun despite a brisk breeze.
We went to Claythorpe Watermill which really is in the middle of nowhere. The mill isn’t operating as such, the main attraction being the small animals and birds. And we were able to take Basil into the garden where we enjoyed coffee and sandwich.
The waitress told us that it can get very busy in the summer with 100 people a day. A large marquee accommodates them all.
The access road was closed due to work on laying a water connection to the camping site. Despite the mill being 50m distant from the road closure, Google started taking us on a massive detour. We eventually ended up at our starting point. Len decided I should ask the workmen for advice on how to reach the mill via an alternative route. Instead, they moved the barriers and let us through. Excellent.
I can indeed recommend the cafe.
Today’s photo taken outside the Coop at Sutton on Sea. Bright sunshine reflected on shopping trolleys.
