Raining conkers!

It’s wise to steer clear of the chestnut trees at the moment ….. the squirrels are having a great time splitting open the green casings and then letting the pieces, including the poisonous seeds, fall to the ground and having the jaggy casing land on your head is not too pleasant.

As Poppy and I were walking back to the car I spotted the little squirrel making off with one of the fruits of his labours. Not too good a picture as the wee squirrel was just a bit too far away.
My collection is slightly larger than Squirrel Nutkin’s ….. unless he has a wee stash buried somewhere.
