Merchant Adventurers' Hall

Backblipped on September 28th

One of my friends visits York quite often and today she asked if I would like to join her. I jumped at the chance as it is the first time I have been there since 2019.

M showed me this lovely building which is hidden behind some shops in Fossegate. I had never come across it before. It is a Grade I Listed building and Scheduled Ancient Monument. It was built between 1357 and 1361, before most of the craft or trade guild halls in Britain, making it one of the largest buildings of its kind and date in Britain. It is amazing that it has stood for 660 years.  I must go back and explore inside.
