Flats in a gas holder!

Today I went to Kings Cross to meet some friends for lunch. I have not been there for 18 months and yet more buildings have been built. Although it was busy at the stations I was disappointed to find that the Kings Place cafe was closed( where we had arranged to meet) and lots of other shops restaurants were also closed. However there is always plenty to look at around Coal Drops Yard and an Art Gallery that I had not been in before ….it shows work from students at St Martin’s which is next door. We had lunch at a restaurant called Lightermans overlooking the canal….a really nice venue and pleasant but not exceptional food. There is also an Art trail accessed via a QR code which has a good map and info about 16 different art works/ buildings.
The blip is of the flats which have been built within an old gas holder! The block is called Gasholder. Apparently the actual gasholder was in a different position, it was taken apart, moved and then relocated …and then the flats were built inside. In the extra you can see in the foreground Coal Drops yard…the buildings were originally part of the coal yard but when renovated the roof was extended and is called the ‘Kissing Roof’.
The photos were taken before the rain!
