"on the road again"

A very old photo of me on my railcard - before any orthodontic treatment took place! It's photos like this where you can really see the difference in how I look now!

5.50am on a Saturday morning - a time I have not seen in a very very long time! :( Storm force winds battering the back windows in my room didn't help the sleep pattern either as I ended up seeing every hour of the clock - so I was incredibly tired when my alarm went off!

But it was all for a good cause - I was Edinburgh bound with Phil as official Abertay support crew for Day 2 of the badminton championships! A 7.30 train got us there on time to find a team more than a little worse for wear after a night out on the Edinburgh tiles! :)

The quality and standard of badminton being played at these champs was in a league of its own! Kind of puts it into perspective that what we play is not badminton when you watch these people from other universities compete against each other - the majority of them Scotland players and ranked for their age group. The speed of the shuttle and the rallies, their movement on the court, and how they make the whole thing look so simple was just mind blowing and left me at a loss for words!! I can but dream to have ever been as good at badminton as them! Well done to Dundee for winning the mens doubles - the secret weapon from Germany worked!!! :)

A night time stopover in Edinburgh at the flat led to a quiet night in with a movie and a takeaway for me whilst the team partied in the big city one more time!
