The Sitootery.
Some six months ago I electrified my least valuable bike as a trial, and today was its first real outing. The ride was just over a trivial 30 miles which was exhausting in my present state of fitness. The 250 watts of power the motor is supposed to produce is (allegedly) the equivalent an Olympic cyclist’s performance; it also doubles the weight of the bike which is not important when it’s the motor taking the strain but, it is a bit of a bugger when trying to lift it into the car. Knowing how to fit the thing, I might try putting it on either a trike (also difficult to put in a car) or a more suitable bike.
The trip took in the café at the Dolphin Centre where they serve the most disgustingly tepid coffee but have the saving grace of being a charity I’m happy to support, a mountain bike circuit where a young lad was gi’ing it laldy on, would you believe, an electric mountain bike and, finally, the rather demanding Hill of Maud. The battery charge meter claimed it could have managed a couple more circuits; perhaps I could have saved a few shekels by getting a smaller one.
Next door to the B&B is a derelict cottage. It appears a young lady has been working there although there was no evidence of any progress. However, she does have this sitootery where it seems she entertains.
