Riverside, Newhaven.
This is the riverside cafe I blipped on 22nd Sept. taken from across the river. It doesn't look any better from this side! However it was very nice food. The sign looks at if it says "FAT", though it is "EAT"!
The large bird, a cormorant, is mercifully not real. It has a local significance:
In the 16th century, the people of Seaford were known as the "cormorants" or "shags" because of their enthusiasm for looting ships wrecked in the bay. Local legend has it that Seaford residents would, on occasion, cause ships to run aground by placing fake harbour lights on the cliffs.[5]"
The extra is of the bridge a few yards away. It endears itself to everyone in this area by opening on an (irregular) basis when you least expect it, which with roadworks and the "petrol pandemic" causes massive tailbacks, making Newhaven a must see. Or at least you spend plenty of time seeing it!
