Harry Patch.

We've been to Wells, Somerset today and wanted to look around the Cathedral, but a funeral was taking place. Unfortunate for us and the deceased, I suppose !
Just up the road was a memorial to Harry Patch, the last of the First World War soldiers.
I read a book about him, some years ago, in which he said that the war was ended, with a piece of paper being signed and wondered why that wasn't done at the start ?
How very true. All those young and not so young people's lives lost !
