Unpromising

I walked down to the pub today, through the woodlands, hoping to see lots of fungi, after the recent rain and lower temperatures. Sadly there were very few around which is not good news for our UK Fungus Day event on Saturday. Also, the forecast is not good.There were a few Birch Brackets but I spotted this one on a Birch tree, which is not the most usual place to find it as it has a preference for Willow. It's a Blushing Bracket, or Daedaleopsis confragosa.
I had a lovely lunch with some dear friends, whom I don't see often enough!
