Lapwing

Having managed to get some petrol yesterday we were able to meet our friends John and Jennie at the RSPB Reserve at Middleton Lakes as arranged.  It would have been a shame to cancel as today was the only day this week with a reasonable weather forecast. 

We had a picnic lunch at one of the outside tables then took a walk through the woods to the lakes.  There were a flock of lapwing flying around before coming in to land on the water.  Two appear to be having a near collision as they come down!
