Welcome to Dubai

Well the computer has arrived so I can start downloading. I will try my best to blip as often as I can.

Well we have been in Dubai for 5 weeks now. Its chalk and cheese to Nigeria, the malls and social scene are great but you can see that literally everything has stopped. The credit crunch appears to have bitten here even though the state run press says otherwise.

From speaking with expats who still have jobs they can really see the difference as the roads are quieter. This time last year it was gridlock. The driving is much better to Lagos but the roads are still full of nutters driving at 100mp +.

The picture was taken from the Emirates Road. The Burj is still growing. Still a secret on its final height but its going to be about 900 metres.
