Journey Through Time

Fern, the Polydactyl Cat

This took me a long time to decide what to post. We went to a garden nursery that is on the way to Ridgefield Refuge today and I was happy to go there because, Fern, their on-site cat is an interesting kitty, with her sea green eyes and her big floppy paws that have more than her share of toes. I first blipped her here, when she was quite eager to be petted, and I was trying to keep her in the tree.

It was a WARM day today, getting to 65 F and I think Fern was looking for a place to nap. We looked at some of their flowering plants and a quick look at some other things, then went on up to Ridgefield. It was a quiet day there, but we did see some turtles out sunning themselves. The geese all decided to cause a commotion and thousands of them were in the air at the same time, giving us a noisy show of full on Canada Geese in flight. The photos don't do the display justice. We could see the top of mama eagle sitting on her nest. And right before we left, two vultures were swooping around. I got a couple of blurred photos of one, which does show it's considerable wingspan. None of the Ridgefield photos were all that impressive, so went with the kitty.

My Flickr page has some of those shots, and some colorful flowers, if you care to browse.

Truly, it was a lovely day and it was nice to get to Ridgefield, even though the birds and animals were napping or something. One day we will go really early in the day to see if that is a better time for activity. Usually it is.

Not much else, kids. Take care.
