Anglesey
Thursday
Today, the five of us left for a few days away in Anglesey. We got away about 10.15. We had to take two cars, since Bernard’s mobility scooter takes up a whole boot/trunk. The journey took about an hour and three quarters. Our first port of call was Moelfre on the East coast. Bernard was able to manage the first part of the coast path on his mobility scooter, but then it narrowed down, so Janet stayed with her Dad, while John, Roger and I walked on a bit more, seeing a seal swimming along the way. We then drove a little further along the coast to Lligwy Beach, where we had a picnic overlooking the sea. Bernard had a rest in the car afterwards, while the rest of us went for a walk on the beach. Next stop was Cemaus on the north coast, where we enjoyed a coffee or hot chocolate in a cafe, before heading to our accommodation in Llangefni. Janet had difficulty finding a place with three rooms available, and this was an old pub in the centre of town. Roger and I had a room in the main building, but Janet and John and Bernard had rooms around a courtyard in the back. We imagine they were the old stables. This worked really well, as they could park right outside his room. We went out for dinner to an Indian restaurant, though Bernard stuck to his chicken and chips - he’s very limited in his food choices!
