....the North Chagrin Nature Center where I was trained and volunteered today to work the welcome desk.  Out the south door you can see a bit of Sunset Pond.  The north end overlooks the vast marsh.  As part of my training, I was given an extensive tour of the behind-the-scenes places.  I was taken into the individual owl cages for personal introductions to each owl.  All of the naturalists and staff were very friendly.  One of the naturalists fed the spider, frogs, snakes, fish,  and turtles in the lobby.  I did a lot of reading in between greeting folks and answering the phone.  I'm not sure if I will sign up for regular assignments there yet or not.  I sure learned a lot today.
