Papa Bear

Papa Bear is 70 yrs.  Told me that he is First Nations, and that he spent 10 years in a residential school; said it was worse than horrible, and at the age of 14, he ran away from the school and never returned.  His wife is also a residential school survivor but troubled by the fact that she was adopted and does not know where she came from or who she is.

Today was the first national Truth & Reconciliation holiday/day of remembrance, and a lot of people were wearing orange.
