No cockies - yet

Day 5 of the Bird of the Year vote, and my vote goes to the sulphur crested cockatoo. According to research published in the journal Nature, since 2018 sulphur crested cockies in 44 Sydney suburbs have learned how to open wheelie bin covers. What’s more, the pattern of spread suggests that they have learned the skill from each other. It’s mainly the males that do it, and they also seem to have learned to distinguish the red bins that have food scraps inside. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l8NOR1L1-sg

I haven’t seen it here, and I don’t have a photo. It’s probably only a matter of time though. So that explains my otherwise rather pathetic choice of wheelie bins for a blip.
