Herons and egrets and maybe some gulls...

In the main you can see the mudflats as I approached, and in the extra you can see what happened when I walked a little closer.  I don´t know what was going on but by what seemed to me to be their size I´d guess they were young birds; and I say "maybe some gulls" because after the waders left there were gulls on the pitch. 

My internet was down for a long time yesterday evening, till about midnight. Apologies, I´ll try to catch up.
