posting places
The local shop (with post office) is closed for a few days. There has been a change of management. So after murmurings of dismay that we might lose the post office, the talk is now of new possibilities....What will have changed when it reopens - stock, layout, opening times...? A bit of excitement in the village.
Down the road, in Burray, the post box has been moved. This has been a long, slow process. First the old box was taped up. That was puzzling but we decided it was due to safety concerns. It was at the side of a sometimes busy road, with no space to pull off the road to do your posting.
Eventually it WAS taken away.
Now, a new shiny post box has appeared, right by a layby. This box also has a storm cover or flap. It protects the posted items from the weather, but also, importantly, doesn't allow the starlings to move in and use it as a nesting box.
