SILLY SATURDAY - AND OUR ADVENTURE BEGINS!
Hello lovely Blippers,
We usually have a lie in on a Saturday morning, but we are up really early today - just after 6.30 a.m. and Mrs. HCB has been chivvying us around - if you read on, you will see why.
I’m sure you have heard already from Mrs. HCB that she and Mr. HCB are going on holiday - they say it’s the first holiday they have had since they went to Vietnam in 2018, but come on, they are retired, so for them, every day is a holiday! We even hear Mr. HCB saying that he didn’t now how he found time to go to work - well you know what he’s like, always out in the garden, whatever the weather!
When we heard they were going on holiday, we quickly went up into the loft and found our old suitcases and started to pack them including our buckets and spades. However, when we listened to the weather forecast, we decided to take out all our summer clothes and the buckets and spades and put our warm jumpers and long johns in because according to that fella on the TV, it is going to get even colder “oop north”. The only ones who will deal well with cold conditions are Penny Penguin and Snowy, because as you know, they are quite used to the cold and snow.
So here we all are, dressed in our warm clothes and hats and we also decided we would need some biscuits to keep us going but Mrs. HCB wouldn’t let us have chocolate ones because she said we would get messy. However, she said that plain old Rich Tea and Ginger Nuts are good if you feel a bit travel sick, which we sometimes do. Mrs. HCB even found some of the pink ribbons for us to wear because as you all know, it is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, or BCAM for short.
We do know that Mrs. HCB has a lot of friends who have had breast cancer and she has been so inspired by them and in fact, even Mr. HCB’s lovely Mum, Joan, had it and she too, was an inspiration. Somehow, those who are diagnosed seem to find reserves of inner strength and courage and as Mr. and Mrs. HCB’s lovely next door neighbour, Lynn, always says, “You’re not dying with cancer, you’re LIVING with it!” She’s another inspiring lady and she should know!
So for all of those people who have access to the internet - and that means us too, please click on this LINK, so that people who cannot afford to pay for a mammogram can have one free. Of course, we know that in the UK, people don’t have to pay - and we just hope that many ladies in the world will benefit from this particular charity and especially if you all click. So come on ladies, do what you need to do every day by clicking and also every month - and we will be shouting out for you all the way and we will be clicking too!
Now, we'd better go and put our suitcases in the car - we don’t want to get left behind, do we? We have a long journey to make today and we are hoping that there will be lots of adventures to be had in the next few days. You will remember that Silly Saturday is especially in memory of dear Admirer and we think she would giggle to see us with our suitcases, but we know that she would be clicking like the rest of us.
Take care and be kind to everyone, because you never know when they might need your kindness.
With love from
JH Ted, Tiny, Snowy, Penny Penguin and Hoggy xxxxx
P.S. Thanks to all the lovely people who host the various challenges - this month Energia is in charge of the Silly Saturday challenge.
