The Dolomites

Day 7 Italy road trip
After the storm, we woke up dry in the tent, and fortunately with sun by 8.30am. We had a lovely breakfast at the tent, everything dried out quickly, the. We were on the road by 10.30, and headed to Val de Zolo, past by the tourist info, and had a hike recommended. We could drive up pretty high, then 1.5 hours up to Il Spitz at 2050m. What an incredible view point, surrounded by those amazing limestone towers of the Dolomites. We heard a bear roaring, or possibly two from the peak, but couldn’t see them.
Back at the car, we set off and went over 3 passes over 2000m, just incredible views, stopping for wood fired pizza at Pizza Marmolada, delicious.
It was about 8pm when we got to the campsite at Clausen (Chiesa). We went for a walk around the town after getting the tent up, and had a glass of wine at a little Vinothek. We met a lovely German couple there, and had a great chat with them.
