Runes
I embroidered this cushion cover a decade or so ago when I was particularly missing the proximity of Orkney.
The design in the centre is one which was discovered carved on a stone when Skara Brae was excavated. It has been used in all sorts of jewellery and I was given a ring by Dad when I was 13. I’ve worn it ever since. See the extra.
On the cushion, the panels are made up of a repeating Norse runic inscription of my own making.
A bouquet to the first to translate them.
