Under the hammer

3 men turned up with a large hammer each in hand, and without any words, began to simply pound the floor hard. I hadn’t expected this and I was alone in the house. None of them spoke any English so communication was a little tricky. I thought the process was lifting tiles.

It took about an hour, they then mixed up a screed and poured it out like a sauce and walked away. The company rep had said previously that we’d be able to walk on it in 2 hours. 8 hours later, it was still a puddle. And having HatBox, SkyeMan, DougsJB and PuddleDuck over later, and with NoaNoa stuck upstairs and unable to get down, it all proved a challenge.

Eventually we lowered a plank resting on a low step and the door step but it was very slippery and SkyeMan took a whopping tumble.

4 days to their wedding celebration and we need to look after him better.
