The morning alternated between sunshine and torrential rain. In the afternoon I decided to go for a drive and stop when the weather was good. I ended up at Coniston and was very lucky to get a parking spot near the lake. After a wander along the shore and lots of photos I returned to the car and was about to set off when a heron wandered up in front of me. Someone was waiting for my space but I got the camera out again, slowly opened the door and edged around the front of the car to take some photos.
