Mono Monday: Invention

Swedish astronomer, physicist and mathematician Anders Celsius presented his scale for measuring temperatures in 1742.  He used the freezing and boiling points for water to establish the scale.  He suggested 100 degrees as the freezing point and zero degrees as the boiling point.  When Anders Celsius died, his scale was reversed and the Celsius thermometer was born, with 0 degrees as the freezing point of water.
