inventions......From around 1770 it was no longer necessary to use balancing scales, Richard Salter invented the spring scale, using gravity to calculate weight.  Salter scales are still well known today and used in all walks of life.  However I don't own one! I remember using balancing scales
in physics at school, I wonder if they're still used .
