Life in Sunny Dubai

Commute

I rode to work with G today and sat in the passenger seat, so got a few different shots as we drove up SZR. :))

G had a short day, just an hour, so I used the time to familiarise myself with the "new" car. It has some cool features which neither of us registered during the short time that we first saw it. Time might reveal more!

I had organised for our service agent, Khalid, to look at it for me, so we headed over to Rashidiya. He was going to get one of the mechanics to do the test drive but ended up doing it himself. There were a few hairy moments when he tested the turbo etc. The car felt firm and steady but wasn't doing what he expected. At one point, an engine fault showed up. Yikes!

The computer report revealed things we really didn't want to know. Argh! Khalid joked the repair might cost more than what we paid for the car, but I think there are other possibilities. We shall see. One of the big reasons to buy another Peugeot was because we know the team who can help us keep it going. :)

In the evening, we met up with Esther and Matt and their family at Biker's Cafe. They are entering a time of transition, so it was good to chat with them about all the changes on the horizon. Their son Paul was so cute. He is only four but enjoys playing Uno. We had a few rounds of it.

The rain we were hoping for never came. Cyclone Shaheen moved on to Iran instead. Sadly, nine people have died because of it. And in an unexpected turn of events, WhatsApp went down - for over six hours!
