Light and Lines
The light and sun was distinctly different this morning when I went for a walk mid-morning. Autumn is definitely in the air and I realised I was walking in the sun, rather than seeking the shade. There's still warmth in the sun and I remembered how much I like this time of year. Just until a couple of years ago, it would be the time when Bb and I would be preparing for me to travel to Cairo, often to run two courses, which would mean till almost Christmas. I'd usually go there first and he'd join me and then he'd start the back and forward of that famous Barcelona Rome Cairo commute! Although I don't miss our being apart or all the arranging that went into those periods, I'm feeling a little nostalgic for the travelling and Cairo.
My colleague in Zurich and I this morning had the joint task of having a 'below standard for this stage of the course' tutorial. It went as well as these things can go and we think the trainee will plod on rather than choose to withdraw. The centre also offers a chance to continue with the course, but not do the assignments or teaching practice, and at the end get a certificate from the centre, rather than the Cambridge CELTA one, but she didn't bite at that either.
I'm trying to get a blip on earlier these days so that I don't end up with a backlog.
Very strange last night when WhatsApp went down! One less thing to check for a few hours :-) but made us realise once again how we rely on these things.
