I nearly didn't blip today. I went out with the camera and tried out some experiments with camera movement and shallow DOF, none of which worked. So I deleted all my photos. But as we sat down to dinner, I glanced out of the window and saw a full moon in a cloudless sky. After dinner I got the tripod out and used these instructions, which I bookmarked ages ago, to take my first moonshot. Granted, it's not a very compelling photo, but it was interesting to experiment.

For the techies, I did some bracketed exposures and tried merging them to HDR in Photoshop, but I felt the result, even after a bit of tweaking, wasn't as good as this single photo. I don't have a really long lens, so I was limited in what I could do.

In other news, much of the day was spent trying to rescue and secure a hacked WordPress site. ::sigh:: Still, it seems to be OK now -- several hours have passed without any further signs of abuse.
