A surprising birthday

I knew it was R’s birthday but didn’t realise it was a special one! Her daughter insisted I join them after work for a meal in town, but neither of us knew that both R’s son and her mum had travelled from afar to surprise her. It was lovely to be part of a relatively rare family get together and I’m so happy she had such a special treat!

Prior to that, a long work day but I did meet up with one of my writer friends and it was good to talk about writing as I’ve been missing that during these past few crazy months. So all in all a full but good day!
