Yesterday I showed the Nikon D200 with IR conversion that I am giving to my little friend Izzy. 

This is the image that made me try IR with a filter a few years back. It's actually a magazine cover from Digital Photography. The contrast, no pun intended, and colours really caught my attention. Perhaps it may do the same for you. 

When using a filter you need to use a tripod and go for long exposures. With a converted camera you just take a photograph as normal.
