Better late than never.

I normally leave the Dahlia tubers in the ground over the Winter, and last year was no exception. This particular plant was very slow to produce shoots in the Spring and despite being in a sunny position its subsequent growth continued at the same pace. Only in the last couple of days has the first flower begun to open, when other Dahlias close by are almost on their last legs.
