Sunflower for a sunny day
Parkinson's law applied this morning. A couple of tasks expanded to fill the time until 11.30, when I headed off to deliver some card orders and to meet friend J.
An outdoor community space has been established in the Cornhill market place on a Wednesday. Folk musicians practise there, playing tunes from England, Scotland, Ireland and the Celtic diaspora lands on a variety of instruments Stroudie mothers bring their tow-headed children on the back of pedal bikes; greybeards sit around the edges. People bring their own takeaway food and drinks, and tables and chairs are provided, socially distanced. Today the sun was shining brightly, so there was no need for cover. However, plenty of covered space is available for rainy days. We had drinks and listened to a variety of musicians, and recruited a few friends who were passing. As we sat beneath a deep blue sky, I could feel the sun warming the back of my neck. Happiness is so simple sometimes.
