Surprise!

Is this a calendula? I'm not sure but think it might be. In late spring I picked up a packet of seeds, but nothing came up and I forgot about them. When I got home from Seattle in July, I found four little mystery plants in neglected pots. I thought they were white scabiosa seedlings. Transplanted them weeks ago, and lo and behold one decided to start blooming today! And it isn't a white scabiosa!

It was mostly a dark and gloomy day with some scant rain. Not much exciting going on...perhaps you've all had more adventurous days.
