Memoirs of an Edinburgh Poacher

This arrived in the mail today. There was no letter to accompany it and it didn't need one.

A few months ago we were catching up with an old friend of ours and he told us he had a publisher interested in his memoirs. Today the dust jacket arrived and the book will be in the shops soon.

This is one of the most fascinating, amusing and unique men I've ever had the pleasure to meet. He's constantly traveling, getting into scrapes and meeting amazing people. He's also a poacher. In tough times he's kept food on the table that way for his family. He has a lust for life and a love of nature that is infectious and when he was diagnosed with MS a few years back he kept on with the adventures - even if he did fall off his bike more often than he used to.

At one time he discovered a rich supply of rabbits in the deer enclosure at Edinburgh Zoo which kept him happy for a few weeks until he got caught - leading the Edinburgh Evening News to run the attention grabbing headline "Poacher caught in the Zoo".

I hope the book flies off the shelves mate, if it's half as entertaining as the anecdotes you've shared with me over the years it will be a massive success.
