Ploughed Abstract
I thought the lines in this ploughed field would make a suitable photo for Abstract Thursday. This is on the way to Letheringsett, where G and I walked this morning. We both struggled with the temperature as it started low and got up to 20C whilst we were out. I struggled walking uphill after being unwell last week. So I thought an ice cream was in order when we got back to Holt, eaten sitting in a little garden that most of the tourists miss, with G having a coffee. After a rest over lunch, I did some gardening this afternoon, so nice that the wind has dropped at last.
I checked my new driving licence application this morning on the tracking info and it has already been marked as 'issued' - yay!
Day 570 / Day 81 of Step 4 of Roadmap Easing (for my record only)
47 countries were removed today from the red travel list for England and Wales, with 7 remaining. Not surprised this has changed given that the delta variant is dominant everywhere, vaccination rates around the World are much improved, plus the number of new cases for the UK is 2nd only to the US in the World, and is much higher in reality given our relative population sizes. Later in the month (no date given) people returning from abroad will have to send a picture of their lateral flow test to verify their results. New cases were 40,701 today, definitely rising again. Cambridgeshire schools have been asked by public health officials to reintroduce face masks as half of recent infections in the county have been in 0-17 year olds. The ONS has said that an estimated 1.1m experienced self-reported long Covid in the 4 weeks to 5th Sept, with 405,000 reporting it had lasted for at least a year.
