Gates of Distinction
A and I wandered round Kirkby Lonsdale in the drizzle. Here she is reading the plaque that says these unique gates were erected in 1823 for the sum of £43, 6 shillings, 5 pence and 3 farthings.
They were repaired and restored in 2009 for £11, 068.54.
They are unique because they have a fancy hinge mechanism that I will examine more carefully next time I visit.
