Em & Bell

Slept ok, set the alarm for 8, as getting  myself into the habit pre my job starting next week! 

I had to stay in pretty much all day today, well from late morning onwards……8 did manage to pop out for a quick coffee around 11, after Id had breakfast and made a pan of butternut squash soup…..which incidentally is soooo nice!  Just roasted squash, lightly cried onion, a pootato, thyme, garlic, a small  chilli and chicken stock, all in one pan, add the roasted squash, simmer 15 mins and then blitz with a hand blender until silky smooth.

My IT equipment was delivered around midday, new laptop, mobile and office chair……all plugged in now, charging up. Carried my chair up into the study….ironically its exactly the same chair as the one I had when I last worked, even the same colour! 

Next thr plumbing & heating engineer came to service the boiler……except when I opened the door, he said he'd come to fix a leak in my toilet lol.
That was what was written on his job sheet…..needless to say thats not what he did. 

I managed to grab an hour in the garden, cut back various shrubs and plants that were dying back.
Didnt quite fill the garden bin, but  not  far off! 
Put it out front, with the paper bin, ready for morning. Then drove to daughters for our usual Wednesday night dinner and games night, with granddaughter Emily, Bella the cat and Ks partner S. 

We had a lovely roast pork dinner, albeit a little later than usual, followed by our usual games, Rummikub, Em won one and K won the other. 
Em is getting do tall, she is now 3 inches taller than both me and her mum! Bella always comes to join us at the table when we all sit down, she is a funny little cat, very vocal too!  As usual hub featured regularly in our conversations around the table. :-) 

We were tired so an early night for us all…..well that was the plan, I got home and decided to catch up on Silent Witness…..how good was that?!!!
