Comfort Food Memories

I decided to make goulash for dinner tonight and out of all of the meals I have cooked at home and during my shifts at the fire stations, for some reason whenever I make goulash it always reminds me of my mom. It may be because of how well all the colorful ingredients were so specially chopped, the sauce, or the Sunday family night it was served but regardless of the reasons, I always enjoyed the meal and would never compete in a contest with her.
