13000 people

Posted Friday for Thursday

Busy old day of appointments as I had a pedicure booked for the morning to sort my toes out before we head over to Majorca next week, and a session with the beautician at lunchtime. I managed 30 minutes at home between appointments, just enough time to take Phin round the stream and to eat a quick sandwich.

Home again and a wee bit of time to sort out some washing and help Miss PHL tidy her room before we headed off to Glasgow to see Genesis at the Hydro.

Traffic was light and we got parked at the restaurant opposite and enjoyed some food. We then moved the car into the Hydro car park as the free park at the restaurant was now chargeable.

A wee bit of a queue to get in and we were surprised to not need to show our vaccine status. Scotland has made it law from the 18th October to show proof of status but as there has been a few challenges to the new app, venues have a bit of leeway. They may have been doing random checks but I didn’t see any evidence of that. With a capacity of 13000 people I was a little nervous.

Most people near where we were sitting were mask wearing but some used the eating/drinking/dancing get out clause to see maskless.

The concert was good, Mr PHL is more of a fan than I am but I still appreciated the skill of the band. We left just before the start of the encores and we’re congratulating ourselves for getting on the road easily when we hit traffic queues. We hadn’t realised the M8 was closed eastbound and there was a long diversion via the M73 so we didn’t get home till after midnight.

Too tired to blip hence posting this morning. Thanks to Ingeborg for hosting AbstractThursday.
