Riding the tide (River Thames, London)

Around 4.30 pm we started our rowing. It was towards end of high tide and the incoming water gave us some additional speed from where we started (near Chiswick bridge) up to Richmond Lock. There the tide started to change and back again.

Thanks to 2 colleagues of M who joined the crew we were able to go out for this rowing session on a coxed four. We have been rowing there on former visits to London, but first time today at high tide (the difference between low/high tide was 7 metres today, therefore the water almost coming up to the boat house. We had a relaxed row, with enough time to enjoy the area.
