Acer palmatum Autumn colour.
An unusual day weather wise. Wandering round the garden in my shirt sleeves if it wasn't for the obvious signs of autumn it could have been a bright summers day. Certainly not what you expect up here in the Lake District in early October.
Thinking of autumn these leaves caught my eye. The tree itself has had a very chequered past. It was first owned by a friend of Clickychick's who grew it in a container outside the caravan. When she moved she gave it to CC and we planted it at our first house. four or so years later when we moved house we dug it up and brought it with us. Now 40 years later it is going strong still. The roofers had to give it a bit of a severe "haircut" while doing the garage roof.
