Humans have a need for boundaries, we define our world in part by boundaries. Even though it is after the Vernal equinox and officially spring it doesn't mean that winter doesn't occasionally make a reappearance.

In nature there are few definite boundaries instead things blur into one another. Winter into spring, spring into summer, ecosystems into other ecosystems, mountains into plains, forest into deserts, almost everything gradually slides into something else.
